2 cups Aval (rice flakes)
1-2 spoon Mustard
handful Urad dal
2 Dry chillis
1-2 spoon Ginger garlic paste
1 chopped onion
some curry leaves
1/4 spoon chilli powder
pinch of turmeric
salt to taste
1/2 spoon garam masala
1/2 cup grated cocounut
Procedure:
- Take some water in a vessel and add the aval in water, leave for 10-15 seconds maximum and drain water. This is important for the aval to taste good.
- take oil in a pan + mustard+urad dal+dry chillis+ onions + ginger garlic+ curry leaves + chilli powder+ turmeric+ salt + garam masala+grated coconut add one by one, the urad dal must be fried well for better taste. The onions should also be fried well for better taste.
- fry for 5-10 mins
- now add the soaked aval to the pan and stir carefully, so that you do not mash up the aval.
