masala&lt;br /&gt;1/2 cup grated cocounut&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Procedure:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Take some water in a vessel and add the aval in water, leave for 10-15 seconds maximum and drain water. This is important for the aval to taste good.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;take oil in a pan + mustard+urad dal+dry chillis+ onions + ginger garlic+ curry leaves + chilli powder+ turmeric+ salt + garam masala+grated coconut  add one by one, the urad dal must be fried well for better taste.
